what is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy that harnesses the essential oils from aromatic plants to help enhance and balance your mind, body and overall wellbeing.

Motherhood is stressful. Pregnancy can be gruelling. Aromatherapy can help balance you, both emotionally and physically. It can help you combat stress, tackle depression, encourage sleep and even soothe pain.

The beauty of aromatherapy is that you can experience its benefits anywhere; whether at home, work or out and about. Your sense of smell is linked to the deepest parts of the brain governed by your basic instincts, thoughts and emotions. By understanding the different properties of essential oils you can create simple blends for inhalations, massage oils, bath oils or vaporisation. Essentials oils can be used in cleaning products as well as beauty treatments and have all sorts of amazing properties.

Clinical aromatherapist Katie Gegg will be joining us for our first Self-care Session of the year to teach us all about aromatherapy and the power of essential oils.

Katie usually works with clients one-to-one assessing, through detailed consultation, the best course of treatments to suit any physical or psychological condition. She uses a range of techniques including massages, facials and home remedies to help with symptoms.

Under Katie’s expert guidance, you’ll get the chance to get hands on, test some scents and create your own signature blend to take home.

Tickets must be booked in advance and include refreshments and all materials required to make your own aromatherapy blend.
