March is a busy month, but there’s always time for a catch-up
Marching into Spring
Whether you’re a Motherhood Society veteran or a new mum apprehensive about venturing out, we’d like to think that our drop-ins are for you.
We meet in the relaxed space of the Function Room at The Wheatsheaf on Old Bath Road in Leckhampton. It’s self-contained and safe for your little ones, no matter how tiny. There is free parking and a bus stop (route F) directly outside. There is easy access for prams and wheelchairs with ramps inside and out and a toilet with plenty of space and baby changing facilities located within the Function Room building.
There is always hot coffee, loose leaf tea and homemade cake and we have herbal and decaf varieties too. Just pay £4/family when you arrive and treat yourself to unlimited refreshments – sometimes one slice of cake just isn’t enough!
The Motherhood Society aims to provide a safe space for women to chat, chill out and catch-up while their children play, sleep or socialise. There is plenty of room for prams so you can have your sleeping babes by your side.
Playgroups can feel intimidating for women in the early stages of motherhood, or if you’re feeling vulnerable or anxious. Who will I talk to? Will everyone know each other already?
At The Motherhood Society, the focus is on you. We aim to welcome everyone individually, offer you refreshments and make sure you’re happy and comfortable. We have some really lovely regulars who help to make The Motherhood Society a warm and welcoming place. Our Self-care Sessions and workshops can be busy, but our drop-ins tend to be more relaxed so are perfect if you’re apprehensive. There is no need to book in advance so you can just drop in if you feel like it, any time between 10:30 – 12:30.
Come along, we’d love to see you!
