Join us for a lovely Sunday crafty brunch with Amy from Piece by Jackson. Alongside her gorgeous copper and tile furniture, Amy also makes her own unique tiles and resin homewares. We’re so excited that she is bringing her equipment and expertise to teach us how to create our own masterpieces.
So, come and learn to make a pair of jesmonite coasters! You can choose from either square, hexagonal or round coasters with a raised edge so you can use them as coasters or small trinket trays.
Jesmonite is a non-toxic material that mixes acrylic liquid and gypsum powder. It is water based so should wash out of clothes if spilled, but the pigments alone can stain, so wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty is advised.
You will be able to choose your colour pallette, make your own terrazzo chips and create the mix for your coasters. You will then pour into the moulds and we’ll have a cuppa and some sweet treats while they set! When they’re ready to be de-mouled we’ll wrap them up and send you home with a goodie bag of sand paper and sealant to finish off your masterpieces at home.
To enable you to fully concentrate on your projects, and due to the time sensitivity of the medium, this event is for adults only. We don’t want you getting distracted and ending up with a beaker of solid jesmonite rather than a couple of coasters!
Spaces are limited to allow everyone to get individual support from Amy, so you can create a beautiful gift for yourself, or someone else!
