Trying to live more sustainably
All it takes is one event to spark a change. For us, that event was the Cheltenham Maman Planet-Friendly Parenting event back in June 2018.
A relaxed discussion (in a yurt) about sustainability started a ball rolling that is gaining momentum and shows no signs of stopping. As a result, we’re striving to make small adjustments at home and at our events, heading towards greater sustainability and significantly less waste.
At our meet-ups, we’re ditching the teabags and the milk cartons in favour of loose tea and glass bottles to reduce our plastic waste. At home, we’ve changed our shopping habits to include less plastic and more local, organic produce. We use reusable wipes. We buy recycled toilet paper. We use reusable coffee cups, water bottles and carrier bags.
It’s nothing ground-breaking and this alone certainly won’t save the world but, we have made small changes, and they can make difference.
We try to share tips and information to inspire and encourage our community to make small changes too.
Eco-friendly Activities
In 2019 we curated Focus on their Future, a month of environmentally-focussed events to coincide with Plastic-free July. We made eco-cleaning products, bee hotels, eco-bricks and discussed all things motherhood and the environment. We’ll be revisiting some of those activities here and adding lots of new ones to keep your little ones inspired and engaged during the summer holidays and beyond.
