Make your own cleaning spray

Since seeing this on instagram we haven’t even thought about buying another surface cleaning product! We finished up the last of our Method kitchen and bathroom cleaners and made up a batch of this super simple cleaning solution that is so safe you could technically drink it…we wouldn’t recommend it though!

All you need is some white vinegar (we bought ours in bulk online – it is in plastic but comes in 5 litre bottles which we’ll find a job for when they’re empty).

In a spray bottle, mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part cooled, boiled water. That’s it!  Be prepared that it does smell of vinegar while you’re cleaning but the chip-shop whiff doesn’t linger.

If you can’t get on board with the scent, you can infuse your solution.

Use a peeler or knife to cut the peel from a couple of lemons. Place the lemon peels and some springs of rosemary into a jar. Fill the jar with white vinegar and leave to infuse for 10 – 14 days on a sunny windowsill. When it’s done, strain it into your spray bottle, top up with the same amount of cooled, boiled water and you have your very own fresh, citrusy cleaning solution – Method eat your heart out!

If lemons aren’t your thing, there are loads of alternatives that we are yet to try, like cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange peels, mint, or even lavender!

We’d love to know what concoctions you come up with!
